“Building Smart and Green Transport Infrastructure” was the theme for ICRR2025, which brought together global experts, engineers and industry leaders in road and railway development for knowledge exchange and sharing. The event, held at the HKCEC in mid-June, showcased best practices and technological advancements worldwide, and also explored the prospects of Hong Kong’s major road and railway development beyond 2030.

By focusing on the themes of “Smart” and “Green”, ICRR2025 aimed to underscore the significance of adopting forward-thinking and environmentally conscious approaches in road and railway development.  “Smart” represents the integration of cutting-edge technologies and innovative approaches in design, construction, and operation of roads and railways, while the term “Green” emphasises the importance of sustainable practices and environmental considerations in development of roads and railways

The conference also strengthened global collaboration among academics, government officials, professionals and industry practitioners, including suppliers, consultants and contractors. This will help attract enterprises, investment and talents to enhance the competitiveness of Hong Kong.
