What were a 4m-high pyramid and 1.5m-high Tutankhamun doing in the HKCEC in early August? They provided the theme for the HK Cat Expo 2025! Cats were revered in Ancient Egypt, where they were regarded as sacred creatures, and it was believed they had magical and protective powers. And the same can probably said about the thousands of eager visitors who flocked to the three-day show that celebrated all things feline.

It was a “must-visit” destination for cat owners, cat slaves and cat lovers. It combined shopping, art, social media check-ins and educational sharing sessions on a variety of cat topics including medical care. Exhibitors displayed the latest in cat food, toys, accessories and more. There were cat competitions, grooming demonstrations and entertainment activities. In addition, many local art galleries created "Meow Star Art" especially for the event with cat-themed art works on show.

It seems a “purr-fect” time was had by all!
