The first ever official Comic Con in Hong Kong took place in late May, featuring renowned local actor/producer Louis Koo as its official ambassador, with exhibits including his personal Marvel/DC collection.

Comics, anime, film, gaming showcases, cosplay competitions and collectibles, including exclusives, all featured at the three-day event hosted by the HKCEC. Global celebrities including Hannibal’s Mads Mikkelsen, Breaking Bad’s Gustavo Fring himself, Giancarlo Esposito, and the legendary Christopher Lloyd appeared in the “Meet the Stars” program, alongside world-renowned comic creators, David Angelo Roman (Rick & Morty), Bob Layton of Marvel, and DC illustrator Agnes Garbowska. Also a hit with comic aficionados were rare Hollywood-signed movie posters featuring favourite stars of the genre.

As the ultimate annual pilgrimage for global pop culture fans, this three-day event was a powerful testament to HKCEC venue’s capacity for achieving large-scale, high-traffic international gatherings.
