Websites and apps enhance our lives, but for those individuals with disabilities can be difficult – this is why HML promotes digital accessibility as a key strategy. Both the HKCEC website and the HKCEC Mobile App have been honoured for their achievements in the Digital Accessibility Recognition Scheme 2024-2025 (“The Scheme”). The website received the Triple Gold Award, while the HKCEC Mobile App joined the Scheme for the first time and has been honoured with the Gold Award in its relevant category.
The Triple Gold Award is the highest accolade in the Scheme, and it is presented to organisations whose websites have won the Gold Award for three consecutive years. The HKCEC website has received the Gold Award since 2016.
The Scheme is organised by Hong Kong Internet Registration Corporation Limited, co-organised by the Hong Kong government’s Digital Policy Office, while the Equal Opportunities Commission serves as the independent advisor. It aims to encourage digital inclusion and ensure website and mobile app users with visual impairment can also access the information. This has been identified as a priority objective at HML, and as a key member in the industry, we strive to ensure that the content on the website and mobile app is easily available for everyone.
