HML UPDATES

Cooking Up a Storm!

Congratulations are due to HML’s Food & Beverage (F&B) Team for attaining a number of outstanding awards at the Hong Kong International Culinary Classic 2025 (HKICC). HKICC, held during HOFEX 2025 in mid-May, is one of the largest culinary competitions in Asia and aims to promote the culinary excellence, skills and abilities of chefs, cooks, pastry chefs and apprentices.

HML’s F&B Team swept 8 awards with 2 Golds, 1 Silver and 5 Bronzes at HKICC. Demi Chef Yeung Wai Ying, Jenny and Commis No. 3 Chor Man Hang, Kary won Gold medals in the “Individual Competition – Western Cuisine Hot Cooking (Professional) – Halibut” and “Individual Competition – Pastry (Live Cooking – Professional) Restaurant Dessert” respectively. Being one of the top five scorers in the Western Cuisine Hot Cooking (Professional) category, Jenny entered the “Golden Bauhinia Cup Competition” and won a Bronze medal.

Co-organised by the Hong Kong Chefs Association and HOFEX, Asia’s leading food and hospitality tradeshow, the HKICC is a Worldchefs’ “World Association of Chef's Societies” endorsed competition, and in line with Worldchefs’ rules and regulations, reducing food and plastic waste is paramount.

HML is thrilled to receive the awards, which are a seal of approval by the judging panel. This is a recognition of our devotion in nurturing young talent and the provision of professional culinary training, combined with exquisite culinary skills and creativity. The awards are a definitive benchmark of excellence for the F&B team.

HML has had its own in-house F&B team, including chefs, restaurant and catering service staff, and experienced event managers, since the HKCEC opened in 1988 – a vital reason behind its success.
