HKCEC has continuously enhanced the green level of its existing building, and this year reached another milestone in sustainable excellence. HKCEC awarded the BEAM Plus Existing Buildings Platinum rating under Version 2.0 Comprehensive Scheme A. This is the highest certification under BEAM Plus Version 2.0, independently assessed by BEAM Society Limited.
As Asia's premier convention and exhibition venue, HKCEC continues to lead the way in environmental responsibility. The BEAM Plus framework, Hong Kong's leading green building standard, evaluates performance across critical areas including management practices, site sustainability, materials and waste management, energy efficiency, water conservation, and indoor environmental quality. Securing Platinum demonstrates HKCEC's exceptional performance in every category – a rare and commendable distinction for a dynamic, high-traffic venue of our global stature.
This certification underscores HML’s holistic commitment to reducing environmental impact while enhancing operational excellence. From advanced energy-saving technologies to innovative waste reduction initiatives, these efforts ensure HKCEC remains a benchmark for eco-friendly event spaces, delivering superior comfort and efficiency for the users.
This award is another recognition in addition to achieving LEED for Existing Buildings: Operations & Maintenance 2009 Gold certification in 2023, administered by the US Green Building Council.
