HKCEC's 34th Anniversary Cocktail Reception (video only)

My heartfelt thanks go to the 130 customers and close business partners who joined us for our 34th anniversary celebration on 29 November. ‘Get Set Go!’ was the theme to mark the occasion. We’re letting customers and business partners know that HML is ready to welcome back international events and overseas visitors. The past two years have been exceptionally difficult, and I am grateful you have continued to organise events at the HKCEC. Thank you for your support and confidence. 

As I was writing this message, the HKSAR government dropped the amber code and the three-day medical surveillance requirement. So new arrivals in the city are free to visit any restaurant and venue and to attend events immediately! And HML is fully geared up to welcome your events and your international delegates back.

This theme “Get Set Go!” also fits well with the initiative by the events industry to achieve net zero carbon by 2050. In November, I spoke at the UN Climate Change Conference, COP27, where Net Zero Carbon Events launched it roadmap to achieve this. Over 400 supporting organisations from 55 countries have now signed up. HML has an important role to play here in shaping sustainable practices, influencing stakeholders and seeking their support. 

To start a brighter new year, we just launched the HKCEC mobile app with which users can get updates of upcoming events and our restaurant offers on their fingertips. You will find out more details about it in this issue. 

The industry is gearing up to ‘Get Set’ and be ready to ‘Go’. So is HML!
