Jewellery & Gem WORLD Hong Kong was the city’s first event since the pandemic to witness the full resurgence of international participants. Widely recognised as the world’s largest jewellery fair, the 40th edition drew 3,417 exhibitors from 44 countries and regions, and attracted over 53,000 buyers from 142 countries and regions. 

The focus for 2023 was on celebrations surrounding the 40th anniversary. The Extraordinary 40 (E40) Awards recognised 40 industry champions that have made substantial contributions to transforming the jewellery trade, while Master Insights included panel discussions headlined by E40 Award Recipients. The Red Radiance education programme displayed exhibits, live gemstone-cutting demonstrations and immersive experiences centred around the 40th anniversary gemstone – the ruby.

The success of this year’s event underlined the enduring appeal of Hong Kong as the gateway to China and the rest of the world within the jewellery industry. The 2024 edition of JGW returns to the HKCEC from 18-22 September.
